RENOVATION UPDATE – MAY 9, 2021
In the last two weeks, more clearing and site preparation work has been completed inside the Spirit of Hope building and reconstruction has begun. Here are a few more photos to give you an idea of what it looks like now. These were taken on Saturday, May 1.
Framing of the chancel in the sanctuary has begun.
The office area has been further cleared and electrical work begun.
The foundation under the former ramp area has been further excavated.
The pit for the elevator shaft has been hand-dug – to a depth of six feet!
Excavated concrete, clay and soil has been conveyed up through one of the Church School windows.
Warren Mack, our Director of Music and stained-glass window designer and maker, brought in two of the windows he has completed for the sanctuary: “Spirit of the Land” (left) and “Spirit of Truth” (right). We will have a more detailed article on the windows of our renovated space in a future issue of The Spark.
